The Wuji Jinling Eco Hotel is designed to be the first boutique wellness hotel in Nanjing. The simple and Buddhist living space promoted by Chinese traditional health theory is the starting point of our architectural design. We combine the element of traditional Chinese garden with a contemporary architectural approach in a way that Chinese and Western elements merge harmoniously to a high quality architectural space. In addition to the clear relationship between architectural volume and simplified facade design, we created courtyards for the hotel rooms with Chinese design features to form a climate of Chinese Garden. The complex is open to the urban landscape to the west. Hence the urban green is induced to the courtyard and every corner of the architectural space to form a vertical, diversified green space. This is a kind of direct experience to green building and emphasizes the spatial concept of eco-hotel. The Eco Hotel is located in the heart of Nanjing Software Valley. With only 10-minute drive to the Nanjing South Station and metro station at the North east corner, the site enjoys huge transportation benefits.
Since ancient times, Fuzhou is famous for its spas. The International Conference Center includes about 160 acres of tourism landscape part. Phase II of the Conference Center is located in the north-west of Huaian, directly on the shores of the Min Jiang river. The project consists of two smaller, separate club houses with meeting and dining facilities and one conference center with guest rooms, all facing the river.Rather than trying to stand out, our approach for the Conference Center is rather blending into the natural environment of the surrounding landscape. All central service and conference facilities are organized in a podium, while the guestrooms are organized in seven floors above, organized in an international, resort style hotel scheme. The facade is organized horizontally, using wooden elements as screen for the balconies of the hotel rooms. In order to visually reduce the massing of the building, the volume of the conference center is folded twice.
The project is located in Sino-Singapore Eco-city in Tianjin, Haiyun road to the north, Ke Yuandong road to the east, Hai Yunnan road to the south, Keyuan road to the west. We were asked to take over this project with an already finished structural works, but completely new building program. The key challenge was to match this new program with the existing conditions. The complex is composed of two towers and a connecting base. One of the two towers will be used as hotel, while the other one will serve as office building. The podium between the two towers will be a commercial area. The entrances of the towers and the commercial areas are designed separately.
The Handan City Yinda City Plaza is located in the center of Wuan city, north of Wuan square and Zhongxing road. Offices, apartments and an hotel are organized in 5 towers which are connected by a commercial podium. The complex is devided into two plots, east and west of Xinhua Road. Two plazas on the -1 level serve as pedestrian connection between these two plots.
The objective of the design is to form a inspiring landmark at the entrance to Tianjin Airport Business Park. A gradually rising surface, allegorizing a “stairway to heaven”, is forming a sculptural event in cautious, yet also ascinating way. It is actually the initial image of a diversified, sophisticated sequence of spaces which lead to a beautiful park, flanking the south-west side of the building complex. The richness of urban space resulting from this arrangement is to the benefit of the adjacent projects. Very similar to a group of people having a conversation, the 6 buildings stand in a relationship to each other, make contact and communicate. With regard the functional aspects, the specific organization of buildings and open spaces allows for a great variety of dispositions with representative entrances to the buildings, as well as being a prime location for commercial facilities. This also implicates homogeneity regarding the location values of the different commercial and business areas. The position of entrances as well as the floor plan layout can be changed in many ways, so that it is possible to offer a great variety of solutions for business and commercial uses.
The international exhibition center is located in the center of Qingdao, which close to Qingdao museum, Qingdao theatre, the first-stage and second-stage of Qingdao convention and exhibition center. By walking roads which connecting these important building node together, the prototype of large multifunctional center is created, and the foot traffics of north to south and east to west divide the space to different spaces and levels.
The Haixia Hotel is part of the new convention and exhibition district in the east part of Fuzhou. The three towers located at the main street have separate functions: one office tower and two hotel towers. To make place for a public plaza facing the river, central functions which are usually located in the first floors of an hotel (event hall, restaurant, bar and KTV) are relocated in the upper floors as lifted podium that connects the two hotel towers. In order to satisfy the requirements for sunlight and ventilation of the hotel rooms of the main tower, a bigger hole was cut out of this overhanging podium. On top of the podium is a rooftop skybar with great view over the lake.
The community clubhouse of the Society Hill Residences is located at the heart of the residential area, near the main gate of the initial construction phase. Its cubic architecture of the is closed towards the street yet opens up towards the interior of the site, spanning the full height of the building and offering an unobstructed view of the plaza with its water cascade, behind which one can see the beginning of the Orchard Park. The multi-functional building offers a large variety of sports facilities: the indoor pool and gymnasium stacked on separate floors, fitness and aerobic rooms, and open air tennis courts on the roof. Next to this concentration of facilities, the plan includes a foyer for meetings and exhibitions, a lounge, administration offices, as well as numerous technical facilities. The facade is constructed from dark red, partially perforated Trespa panels distributed uniformly across all functional areas and allows for direct or filtered views of the outside.
